Held at the Vinitaly Special Edition in Verona award of 41 Venetian restaurants of excellence, was selected by comparing the three most famous and popular gastronomic guides. Ten of them are from Verona: in alphabetical order, 12 Apostles of Verona, Amistà of San Pietro in Cariano, Casa Perbellini and Il Desco of Verona, The House of the Spirits of Costermano, The Cru of Grezzana (Verona), The Artigliere of Isola della Scala, The Oste Scuro (Verona), Oseleta of Cavaion Veronese and Old Malcesine of Malcesine.
The Veneto Food Excellence Awards, an initiative organized by Veneto FIPE – Italian Federation of Public Enterprises / Confcommercio – with the support and contribution of the Veneto region, are a sign of gratitude for the positive image given by these operators, nationally and internationally, in the regional territory: support for standard agri-food products.
The Veneto is the first Italian tourist area and one of the main European tourist areas. Numerous surveys conducted for the reasons leave no doubt: according to the Ipsos survey Foreigners consider the offer of food and wine as a primary motivation for travel, with the same effect of the monumental heritage. A result that confirms the data of the Food Travel Monitor, according to which Italy is ranked first in the world as a food and wine destination.
For the other provinces, 11 awards went to the province of Vicenza, 10 to Venice. followed by Belluno with 4 awards and Padova and Treviso with 3 each. Five new names are entering the rankings, including Veronese Amistà and La Cru.

For the first time, the regional award “Start & Star” was awarded, which was wanted by the newly formed Youth Group of FIPE-Confcommercio Veneto, which aims to reward traders under 40 who have distinguished themselves for results and business quality in starting or growing their activities: among them Sokol Sina, owner of La Corte Sconta in Verona.
