The F16 final offered a classic Scanian match between H65 Höör and Ystads IF. The winning team of the electric light duel wore white jerseys, YIF kept their focus on Monday night and used sharp combinations to triumph 11-9.
On the way to the final, the so-called golden gang saw opponents from large parts of Swedish handball. Täby HBK, Eskilstuna Guif and Skövde HF had to console themselves with the fact that at least they fell against the best team in the tournament.
At the top, YIF could sometimes cross, but H65 Höör responded by forcing the ball at least as effectively.
The famous small margins appeared as tangible qualities in Ystad with a sharp line entry and a breakthrough in the mini-jerk at 9-7.
Ystad’s goalkeeper save in the following stretch received at least a standing ovation from the fans on one side of the stand, but H65 broke through with a steal and 9–8 into an open goal. The red team pushed further with an equalizer before the final minute, with few attacks remaining as Ystad relied on a precise passing game until it was 10-9.
When Höör got rid of the ball, the seconds passed quickly, but another successful combination showed where first place would end, Ystad won with 11–9.
Ystads IF–H65 Höör 11-9
