Bepe Melchionna, known as “Grubby”, has died.

Yesterday, Friday August 5, Beppe Melchionna passed away at the age of 61, better known as ‘Grumbi’, the historical president and DJ of Giancarlo ai Murazzi. Many remember him on social media: a sincere memory can be read on Arci Torino’s Facebook profile: “If there are persons who represent Arci in Torino, Grumbi is certainly one of them. Voice and soul of our relationship for decades · with him We shared many struggles and rode many dreams, crossing together spaces of freedom and militancy in the many Circles of Arcs that throughout his life he defended and represented.”

And they all agree on Grubby’s definition as “the perfect synthesis of militancy and entertainment, revolution and culture, able to ignite Murazzi’s nights, Giancarlo’s and create mobilizations and vigils during the day.”

An executive of Arci, a spokesman for the radical left, Grubi played in the Communist Party and ran in the elections with the Greens. He was a member of No Tav and was one of the faces in town of the Public Water Movement. “Good trip Comrade Grumbi – we still read it on the Arci page -, you leave an unbridgeable void in our community, but your example will help us continue to fight, laugh and joke like you always wanted.”
