This year, awards have been presented for the eleventh time to bars around the world and a record number of new names have appeared in the top 50 since last year. Even before the announcement, it was clear that the standings would have a new winner. Last year’s number one bar Dandelyan in London decided to close and the owners are considering a new project.
Bars fought for the vacant post of “king” and York’s top poll was Dante, who has served in Greenwich Village for 104 years. It welcomed guests for the first time in 1915, and after a complete reconstruction, a hundred years later it has become a famous place.
“We cannot feel more honored. We will continue to strive for our guests to create unforgettable experiences and focus on our approach to hospitality,” said Linden Pride, the Australian owner of the bar, where specialties Italian drinks are served in addition to cocktails.
New York has three performances in the top ten. In addition to number one, The NoMad and Attaboy also won.
