Denmark is one of three countries hosting the World Championships in November and December. The captain of the national team then believes in good opportunities to challenge the Norwegian and French favorites.
– We are at the level of Norway and France, and we must take advantage of it, says Jesper Jensen in an interview with DR.

Denmark finished second in last year’s EC playoffs. But now they are one of the three host countries, along with Sweden and Norway, and then they hope to be there and fight for the noblest medals.

Norway and France are, as usual, among the early favorites. A national team for which the captain of the Danish national team, Jesper Jensen, has great respect.

But he believes home-field advantage in the playoffs could be the final injection of energy needed to upset rivals Norway and France, who Jensen still considers favorites.

– There will be a big pool below them with Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands… But we are up there with Norway and France, and we have to take advantage of it. And then we have to hope that the 12,000 people in the Box will be able to do the last thing,” he tells DR.

When Jensen talks about “The Box”, he is referring to the giant arena in Herning, where the Danish national team has the opportunity to play the entire playoffs, if they manage to qualify. The Danish national team begins its World Cup tournament with the match against Serbia on December 1st.
