Minister Przemysław Czarnek signed on Friday two rules: about the functioning of educational institutions in the coming school year. According to the ministry, “from September 1, 2021, all students will study pre-pandemic at school.”
The head of the Ministry of Education and Science also decided on Friday that next year’s group 8 exam will take place in May, a month later than usual. In 2022 there will also be no eighth-year exam in the fourth compulsory subject (selected from the subjects: biology, chemistry, physics, geography or history).

One of the signed regulations also applies to, among other things, the entrance examination. Next year, like this, it will be performed only in the written part.
“However, graduates are required to take the entrance examination in one additional subject at the comprehensive level in 2022. Only graduates who apply to a foreign university can take the oral part of the entrance examination, they are required to pass the oral part of the entrance examination in the language modern foreigner to implement the provisions of the international agreement “- informs the Ministry of Education and Science.
A condition for passing the matura exam next year is to have obtained at least 30% of each compulsory subject in the written part. points and passing the entrance examination in at least one additional subject at the comprehensive level.
“A graduate who fails the entrance examination for the compulsory subject or subjects (including failure to pass the oral examination) may retake the examination in this subject or subjects within 5 years after the first entrance examination” – informs the ministry.
“After this deadline, in order to obtain a secondary school diploma, a graduate must complete the entrance examination” – the ministry added.
