ROVIGO – Summer full of stimuli and fun for the team of athletes from Rovigo canoe under his athletic direction Aneta Andziak. The slogans were “new sporting experiences”. The summer season was the right time to take part in the various disciplines: Olympic Canoe (speed), White Water Canoe, Rafting, Canoe Polo and Sup, a new sport of Federcanoa.

This took place overlooking the white waters of the emerald Soca River in Slovenia, flat water training at Canalbianco and various away games.

The rough sea sports meeting took place in the Slovenian territory of the Triglav National Park, in the location of Bovec. A week in a scene immersed in the wild and mysterious nature, in a place of international importance for wild waters, where amateur canoeists, racers or simply lovers of rough water meet, looking for a pinch of adrenaline. The group of 13 athletes was closely monitored by the technical staff of Canoe Rovigo, coaches and trainers with extensive experience in wild waters. Equipped with specialized clothing such as overalls, neoprene shoes, water jackets, life jackets, helmets, the boys faced all the hardships of the rapids, with their hearts pounding, in complete safety. Taught and practiced basic rescue drills, diving and swimming in ice water (10-12°C), river reading lessons, Eskimo tests (eg how to flip a canoe under water), the techniques to adapt to the canoe in the stream, all experiences that have significantly improved the sports abilities of the athletes, allowing them to be able to face even the rapids of II and III degrees of difficulty. “The skills acquired in the torrent – explains Andziak – pour directly into the discipline of speed canoeing, takes place in calm waters (flat waters), giving the athletes greater mastery in canoeing and safety in movement”.

Training at Canalbianco resumed immediately after the meeting. In the regional race in Friuli Venezia Giulia, held in San Giorgio di Nogaro last Sunday, 7 athletes from Canoe Rovigo took part. The very young Antonio Maran in the cat came close to gold and finished second in the 200m. Student A. Performs excellently even over the long distance of 2000m, starts on point, but cannot keep up with his rivals, finishing in sixth place. Crew with Paul Vendemiati comes seventh. The latter, a promising athlete even with little competitive experience, reaches seventh in speed, in cross-country skiing he occupies eleventh place. Silver also for the crew consisting of the small, Celeste Moretto and Maia Turri who make an excellent shot at 200m. It claims Emma Lace who narrowly missed the podium and finished fourth, in the cross-country race, faced a double crew of Maia Turri, finishes in ninth place.

Margaret Moretto she is seventh in the 200m, in the cross country she finishes sixth. Very well Heavenly Moreto, fifth. Excellent performance by Cadet A Antonio Bertelli, who every time improves his times and raises his position. Fourth in 200m, sixth in 2000m.
