Emily Thompson moved from Skara HF to Bajen last season. The middle six clearly know to continue handball in green and white as advanced to Division 2.

A total of five seasons with SHE experience provides a solid addition to the Hammarby IF team spirit. The move from the upper league to the lower leagues may require some explanation, Thompson came to Stockholm for practical reasons.

– The fact that we managed to sign Emily went a bit under the radar last season. The plan was that she would join after Christmas as part of her early internship in Stockholm, but due to injuries in the squad she had to step in already in the fall. Emily is an important player in the team, she contributes with her defensive game, her tenacity and her routine. Plus, she spreads joy and shows great commitment off the pitch, says coach John Lindvall on the club’s website.

Thompson himself describes mersam in the new environment.

– The dream is to win the series and wear the gold hat again, said Emily laughing. Above all, it will be inspiring to see how much we continue to grow, both as a team and as individuals, now that we face tougher opposition. We have an exciting season ahead of us with matches in Division 2 and the ATG Swedish Cup, it feels good to continue at Hammarby, she told the club website.
