The colors of Pardubice were defended by this year’s two-time junior vice-world champion Daniel Cimburek and two-time European orienteering champion Kristýna Janoušková.

“Our team was supposed to be bigger, but due to illnesses only two competitors took part in the races,” said Anna Cimburková, PR assistant at the Pardubice club.

Daniel Cimburek confirmed his form at the World Junior Summer Championships and won four medals at Eger.

“Although a junior he won the most precious metal on the men’s 400m underwater track. Rather than fighting his opponents with his Czech junior record, which ultimately just missed him. In the 100-meter submarine discipline, he had a great match with the role of favorite and won it with more than two seconds ahead. He won the other two medals somewhat surprisingly in the shortest personal best sprints. He was second on the surface at the age of 50, third on the same track underwater, ”describes Cimburková.

His colleague from the national team and the Pardubice team was not as successful anymore. And that’s partly because of an illness that deprived her of more than a week of training before leaving for Hungary.

Kristýna Janoušková couldn’t take full advantage of her form in orienteering and pool diving. Despite lower times, with her fighting spirit, she swam a solid sixth place on the 100m RP track and the seventh place in the 400m RP ”, explains Anna Cimburková.

In total, the fin swimmers from the Czech Republic hung seven precious metals around their necks. Daniel Cimburek has contributed more than half.

This is good news for KP Pardubice as they prepare for the Republic Individual Championship. The championship will take place the first weekend of November in Zlín.
