Now the eyes of the ice hockey world are on Finland when the Ice Hockey World Cup is decided. All matches are broadcast on Viaplay.

Between May 13 and May 29, the eyes of the ice hockey world will be on Finland when the Ice Hockey World Cup is decided. Tre Kronor seeks revenge and seeks to secure a star-studded team full of NHL stars. All league matches appears on Viaplay. Tre Kronor will meet Austria in the first on May 14, but the highlight of the group match will be the encounter with rival host nation Finland.

On hand in Tampere and Helsinki to watch the tournament are hosts Niklas Jihde and Erica Carlsson, pundits Håkan Södergren, Erik Granqvist, Valentina Lizana and Mattias Norström and commentator Niklas Holmgren. On-site reporters are Jonatan Lindquist and Ludvig Holmberg.

– It really tickles my body to be able to lead this championship. I love the Ice Hockey World Cup. Now we will see NHL players and some of the best players in the world in the most wonderful setting, says presenter Niklas Jihde and continues:

– Finland is almost the number one hockey country in the world right now, so it will be incredibly fun. We are a loaded group who are passionate about doing ice hockey our way and sharing it with our viewers who will be able to follow this on the first floor.

During the championship, viewers will also be invited to a series of interviews where Peter Jihde traveled to the country to meet some of Sweden’s biggest World Cup heroes – Leif “Honken” Holmqvist, Jonas Bergqvist, Kenneth Kennholt , Kenny Jonsson and Jimmie Ericsson.

NENT Group is investing heavily in the Ice Hockey World Cup in Finland this year and broadcasting all matches on Viaplay. Sweden’s matches and the qualifiers are also shown on TV6.

Alongside the Ice Hockey World Cup, Viaplay broadcasts the Stanley Cup play-offs, which is decisive in determining which NHL stars may be available for the World Cup.
