There was a class difference in Tuesday’s Danish league matches. The CL Ikast HB and Odense HB sides lost with 37 and 36 goals respectively and double-digit winning margins.

Irma Schjött was stable for Ikast, who left Horsens HH behind early on. The keeper also had two assists on the counterattack in just over ten minutes and 9-5 for the away team was start to finish for Horsens. The home side had the power for promotion and were two goals clear at the halfway mark, but Ikast’s long sprint was unstoppable.

In attacks, Ikast was sharp down the left, Ingvild Bakkerud hit ten plus three in point production and Marketa Jerabkova wasn’t far behind with nine plus one. Emma Lindqvist supported where needed and Ikast was able to count on his second win of the season well before the final whistle.

Copenhagen reasonably held on to the first quarter even before Odense took over most of the big city duel. Martina Thörn in goal came under pressure as Odense gave their keeper choices each half. Althea Reinhardt with 47 percent and Yara Ten Holtes 50 were a good reputation heading into the weekend’s international event.

Outside the goal area, Maren Aardahl Aune did most things right with seven goals down the line. Dionne Housheer was the queen of assists with eight successful plays, Odense proved intractable and split the score between ten different hands.
