Since Ayad Al-Saffars bought Åhléns from former owner Axel Johnson last summer, things have been happening in the department store, to say the least.

They call it a “journey of change” where the chain will invest in the life of different city centers across the country. The latest action on the subject, Åhléns was able to announce in April that a new department store will open in Västerås in autumn 2024.

Now it is also announced that the entire management team of Ayad Al-Saffar is in place, those who will realize the vision of the new owner.

– Åhlén’s journey of change continues and we are now increasing the pace and working to strengthen our department stores and e-commerce and become a profitable business, for the future. We want to bring commerce and life back to city centers and be the natural meeting place and department store for everyone, with a mix of quality brands in apparel, home decor, children and beauty,” Ayad Al-Saffar said in a statement. .
