He made his Champions League debut against Zlatan Ibrahimovic six years ago.

Now Franz Brorsson takes on another big world star – Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

It will probably be more difficult with Lukaku than with Zlatan, says Malmö FF center-back.

Tonight Malmö FF will face Chelsea – the defending champions – away in the third round of Group H of the Champions League.

The day before, Franz Brorsson met reporters at the MFF players’ hotel in central London and was asked if he could compare great Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku with Swedish world star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Something to bite into”

Lukaku can face Brorsson at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night – Ibrahimovic met the MFF defender in 2015 in his Champions League home debut against Paris Saint-Germain. A start that ended in a 0-5 defeat.

– There are two big players. I guess it will be more difficult with Lukaku than with Zlatan, because it feels like Lukaku is going deeper, Brorsson says and continues:

– He is perhaps even taller and wider (than Ibrahimovic). It will be something to eat.

However, it is far from certain that the Belgian attacking star will debut against MFF. On the other hand, Chelsea have many attacking stars. For example, striker Timo Werner, who was recruited last summer from Leipzig, can wait for Brorsson and his teammates.

– I probably prefer the bigger players. It is easier to see what they are doing. If they are a little faster, it can disappear when cornering. It will probably be difficult anyway, Brorsson says.

“One of the best teams in the world”

MFF are bottom of the group after two big consecutive defeats against Juventus and Zenit St. Petersburg and have a goal difference of 0-7. Chelsea are holding on to three points after a win against Zenit and a loss against Juventus. In the Premier League, the London club are at the top of the table after eight matches.

– It’s one of the best teams in the world. They are defending champions for a reason and are still at the top of the Premier League. Nobody expects us to score points here, but it’s clear we’re going, says Franz Brorsson.

The match between Chelsea and Malmö FF starts at 9:00 p.m.
