The Rotary Club Lanciano Costa dei Trabocchi and the Amateur Sports Association Il Crampo, under the auspices of the Municipality of Rocca San Giovanni, are organizing a charity running race for Sunday October 1, with the main objective of raising funds for one of the most important projects of the Rotary International: End Polio Now. The sums raised will contribute
to permanently eradicate polio, a disease that has been almost completely eradicated except in the only two countries in the world where it remains endemic, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The event will start at 9 am on Sunday with a meeting point in Piazza degli Eroi and you will be able to choose between three types of activities that will take place in the surrounding area of the city: the race on foot (about 10 km), the non-competitive walk (about 2.5 km) and a race for children.
Part of the funds raised will be allocated to a project of the Rotary Club at the local level: the construction of a rainwater recovery unit with an irrigation system for the horticultural laboratory of the ANFASS headquarters in Santa Maria Imbaro.
