The “Veilchen” won 2-0 against LASK in the 7th round thanks to goals from Eric Martel (76th) and Noah Ohio (95th) and thus gave the red lantern to the WSG Tirol. Austria could have closed the sack early when some first-class opportunities were left behind. Marco Djuricin ran alone towards Alexander Schlager, but pushed the ball into the arms of the LASK goalkeeper (3rd). Seconds later, Djuricin rolled the ball from a good position beside the goal.

The German had previously jumped the ball in the arm in this action, but the video referee decided not to cancel the blow. In the 89th minute, Austria nearly went 2-0, but Ohio applauded too early, according to VAR, he was offside. For this, the striker had to push after an optimal preparatory work of Huskovic in the 95th minute only until the final score.

Before that, LASK had thought of nothing except a failure by Goiginger (92nd). Austria claimed the first league victory against Linz after eleven unsuccessful attempts. LASK, on ​​the other hand, had been waiting for a home win since April and missed the dress rehearsal for the Conference League away game on Thursday against HJK Helsinki.
