Önnereds HK and H65 Höör ready for European League qualification

Önnereds HK and H65 Höör are ready for European League qualification. The Swedish teams are two of the 34 teams featured at EHF website.

On September 23 and 24, the European League begins its qualifying match, and among the 34 teams presented are two Swedish ones. Both Önnereds HK and H65 Höör have a chance to qualify for the European League group stage this fall.

Önnereds HK enters the first qualifying round with twelve other teams. These teams occupy six places for the next round. The qualifying rounds are decided in double encounters. In the first qualifying round there is also Icelandic Valur, Norwegian Molde HK Elite and the former great team Larvik.

In the second qualifying round, H65 Höör enters the tournament. The matches will be played on November 11-12 and 18-19. In this round, the six teams from the first qualifying round will be mixed with the teams from the second qualifying round. In addition to the teams already mentioned, Storhamar Håndball Elite and the Swedish team Neptunes Nantes are also added here.

From the second qualifying round, twelve teams will advance to the group stage.

Nykobing Håndbold, Thüringer HC, CS Gloria 2018 BN and Motherson Mosonmagyarovari KC will enter the tournament directly in the group stage.

The team that Önnereds and the others will face in the first qualifying round will be decided on July 18 in the draw. This will be seen on the EHF channel.

Önnered HK played Women’s EHF Cup 2004/2005, 2006/2007, 2007/2008 and 2008/2009, a tournament which later changed its name to the European League. This will be the team’s first time playing in the European League since 2009. H65 Höör participated in the tournament last year.
