“Thanks to the system of suspended mining carriages and the grooved locomotive, the museum has acquired a unique character, nowhere else will the visitor take this type of mining train,” said museum director Zbyněk Jakš.
The exhibition introduces visitors to modern and contemporary coal mining using a forage harvester. “But they will also see other common workplaces in deep mines, such as an auxiliary workshop or an iron straightener,” added Jakš.
Most of the exhibits were donated to the museum after the end of deep mining at the ČSA mine by the Severní energyká mining company of the Sev.en Energy group.
In addition to the mining train with grooved tracks and hanging carriages, an excavator and spare parts, other mining equipment traveled from the mine to the museum, such as telephones, self-rescue devices, lamps. , lighting and other necessities, without which the exhibition would not be authentic. All this for around 1.5 million crowns.
The group loaned other parts of the technology to the museum. The new exhibition has so far been offered by the museum in trial operation, and from Tuesday it is accessible to visitors during the opening hours of the institution. “The interest is great”, rejoices Jakše.

Exhibits in the Podkrušnohorský Technical Museum show the customs, traditions and traditions associated with mining life and the restoration of the landscape disturbed by mining activities. The exhibition looks very authentic due to the fact that it is located in the premises of the former Julius III deep mine. in Most-Kopisty.
The historical exhibits on display offer visitors, for example, the opportunity to “sink into” an artificial gallery or a tour of the exhibition on the use of coal for chemical processing. There is an exhibition gallery and a unique exhibition of large mining machines in the museum complex.
