Prime Minister Modi hails India’s success at World Junior Championships, says it will inspire young shooters, sports news

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the “excellent” performance of the IFSB World Junior Championships, saying the victory of the Indian battalion would inspire a new generation of shooters. On the last day of events, India won three more gold medals, taking first place.

“Exceptional performance of our shooters! India topped the medal table at the World Junior Shooting Championships with 40 medals, including 16 gold. Congratulations to the team and best wishes for the future. This success will inspire many other aspiring shooters, ”Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

Indian Vinay Pratap Singh Chandrawat won gold in the men’s double trap with 120 points, while teammate Sihagpreet Singh took silver with 114 points.

Manvi Soni won gold with 105 points, Yshaya Contractor won silver with 90 points and Hitasha won bronze with 76 points in the women’s event.

According to the ranking medal table, Indian athletes comfortably took first place, winning 40 medals, including 16 gold. Athletes from the United States finished second with a total of 21 medals, including seven gold. The Italian team finished third with ten medals, including three gold. Athletes from 16 countries won medals in total.
