Sister Beatrix was president of the Association of Women’s Orders of Austria for many years and will celebrate her 75th birthday on April 15, 2023. In the interview, the educator and theologian looks back on her career and dares to look towards the coming. She mentions that she was born the daughter of a sexton and “grew up” in the Herz Jesu church in Wels. She dreamed of studying medicine, but financial constraints prevented her from pursuing this path. Thanks to the generosity of a religious community, she had the opportunity to complete her studies with a high school diploma. Sister Beatrix eventually became a teacher and continued her studies in pedagogy and psychology.

During this time, she felt a call which, after careful consideration, led her to the congregation of the Sisters of the School of Notre-Dame. She studied theology in Vienna and Regensburg, where she also met Professor Joseph Ratzinger, future Pope Benedict XVI, for a year. heard.
