An in-form Skuru IK met a charged Kungälvs HK this afternoon. A match that can be described as a meeting between the top and bottom of the series. Undefeated Skuru were chasing the championship lead, while Kungälv was looking for their first victory.

Initially, the match was tied and the teams exchanged goals. After barely nine minutes, Jennifer Johansson managed to equalize at 6-6. Afterwards, the match remained balanced and the wingers of both teams had the opportunity to shine on several occasions. Kungälv made a few technical errors, which allowed Skuru to launch a counterattack.

At the end of the first half, the visitors made a slight push and 13-14 quickly became 13-17. Kungälv looked for a cut, but after a carelessness in her attacking play, Alexandra Bjärrenholt managed to throw it into the open area.

Kungälv started the second half in a tough battle, with Skuru having a four-goal lead. But the home side’s Elin Cindric was still good on her right wing and scored two early goals. After just over five minutes, Kungälv had reduced Skuru’s lead to 18-20.

Kungälv had Skuru on their heels, but continued to struggle to defend a certain Alexandra Bjärrenholt who provided both assists and own goals. After technical errors from the home team, Skuru again made a small effort and took a four-goal lead.

When the home team’s top scorer Mia Lagumdzija was sent off, more and more people indicated that Kungälv would not be able to achieve their first victory.
