Norwegian national team player Stine Skogrand has returned to the handball court after pregnancy. On Tuesday, she was part of Ikast Håndbold’s win over Storhamar Handboll Elite.

– It was great fun to replay a match and be able to participate and contribute, Skogrand tells the club Facebook page.

Stine Skogrand is the captain of Ikast Håndbold, but hasn’t played a handball match since November. Until last Tuesday. In June, the Norwegian gave birth, and just over a month later she is back on the handball court. Ikast Håndbold impressed in the match against Norway’s Storhamar Handboll Elite, when they won by ten balls.

– I feel very good physically and I haven’t had any complications after giving birth and when it’s going well I don’t think a comeback should be postponed either, Skogrand tells the club Facebook page.

– Today’s match was good on our side, we ran a lot and held up well in defence, said Skogrand.

Skogrand made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 2013 but had to wait until 2015 before the first league game was played. In the first tournament in 2015, it was World Championship gold and the 29-year-old has since won two EC gold medals, a World Championship silver and an Olympic bronze. Now the Norwegian is back and certainly keen to expand the prize box with a few more championship medals.

– I love playing handball, so I missed it a lot, concludes Skogrand.
