“Palermo unites, we return the smile to the children”
Fourteen, like the number of editions, and one hundred and twenty, meaning the boys and girls who will participate in the camp and who will meet in Palermo for a week, after arriving in the capital from all over Europe.
The fourteenth edition of the European Soccer Camp by La Cavera Academy, the main summer soccer internship in Sicily, was presented at the Saracen Hotel in Isola delle Femmine.
A week of football and fun, individual technical work at the Panormus pitches in viale Michelangelo and relaxation offered by the beauties of Sicily between the sea and traditional food: “This year’s numbers represent a small, big record that makes us proud and still makes us responsible for more – reveals Francesco La Cavera, president of the Academy that organizes over forty internships between Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg every year, then closing the season in Palermo, his hometown -. As always, for us, the first goal remains to give these children, all between the ages of 5 and 17, a week’s experience as professional footballers. Fun and sharing as the main focus, and only after that of technical improvement.”
As every year, great names are expected in Palermo: from the Ambassador Marco Amelia to the Guest Star of this edition, that Davide Moscardelli, an authentic nostalgic hero of a football of values that, now, are somewhat lost. The two former Italian Serie A footballers will be the stars on Thursday 13th at 6pm at the Hotel Saracen, in a meeting open to all on the sidelines of which they will talk candidly about their lives on and off the pitch, in anecdotes and untold . stories.
A first-class technical staff, the one that always hosts ESC Palermo, consisting of professional coaches currently in the management of Serie A, Serie B and Serie C clubs, as well as top personalities of Palermo football such as Mr. Lia Pipitone former goalkeeper of Ludos Palermo, Roma and the Italian women’s football team.
All the ingredients for another successful edition: “Very often now children, boys and girls are subjected to strong pressures at a young age – Francesco La Cavera – underlines – coming from their parents or from the current system connected to the world of football . The result is the gradual loss of their passion and especially their smile. Our goal is to give it back to him and preserve it – he concludes -. Football should be fun above all.”
