Come back there Chivasso Hazelnut Festival and it is at once joy and fun. The famous exhibition dedicated to the delicious pistachios, ambassadors of the Chivassese pastry tradition, expands the form and gives life to Peanut Week from September 18 to 24.
Presented at Ascom Confcommercio Turin and its province, the 27th edition of the Nocciolini Festival is organized by Ascom Confcomercio Chivasso in collaboration with Municipality of Chivasso and with his support Turin Chamber of Commerce. Strong of a production 300 kg of peanuts per year, the Festival will offer the audience the best trade with local food and wine excellence, peanut producers, street food, music, games, entertainment and culture.
“This year’s edition – underlined it President of Ascom Confcommercio Turin and province Maria Luisa Coppa – it further consolidates the relationship between the territory and the tradition of food and wine as a driving force for the attractiveness and competitiveness of the trade, also aiming at the touristic appeal. For this reason the Festival is part of the DUC, Urban Commercial District of Chivasso, sponsored by the Region of Piedmont, in which Ascom has partnered with commitment with the Region and the Municipality of Chivasso. The extension of this year’s program testifies to the desire of the people of Chivasa to make their excellent region known, starting with a dessert very small in size but with a great taste, appreciated throughout Piedmont and increasingly in other Italian regions.”

There are many interesting facts to discover on a journey of emotions between monumental arcades, ancient recipes, new comparisons and tasteful entertainment. The program starts with a preview Sunday, September 17 in the name of trade: more than 40 traders give life to “Get rid of everything” accompanied by music from the traveling band. From Monday 18 to Thursday 21 there is a series of introductory events in a crescendo of cultural and food and wine activities to get to the heart of the celebration from Friday 22 to Sunday 24and is completed by its delivery Golden Pistachio and Nocciolino d’Tola respectively to the historic shopkeeper Silvana Ceresa Carladami and the artist Nino Ventura, who with his art contributed to bringing the name of Chivasso to the world.

One of the most interesting moments of the Festival, Friday the 22nd at 6.00 p.m. in Piazza d’Armi the event “La Piedmont liqueur and vermouth: Chivasso protagonist of history”: Lamberto Vallarino Gancia, Massimiliano Vallarino Gancia and Antonella Parigi they tell the Chivasse origin of their companies with a final test of it futuristic cocktail “Ritto”.
Saturday, September 23 the presenter PAINTand this year traveling throughout Italy for the “Camper” program at RAI1, will accompany the day, through the official opening, and the afternoon with “Typical chefs from the Canavese area” which will see young but established local chefs try their hand at it. Zelig’s comedian Andrea Carlini will appear in the afternoon followed by potluck meetings Fabio Bongiorni with the Masters of Taste of Turin for the whole weekend.
Sunday the 24th at 4.30 p.m. the awards ceremony will take place for “Nocciolino d’oro and Nocciolino d’tola” edited by Ascom Chivasso with the presence of the authorities and the historical masks of Chivasse. Its distribution will follow eggnog and peanuts organized by the Sanbajon and Nocciolini Brotherhood of Chivasso.
You won’t miss it quality street food. 10 stations coming from all over Italy will satisfy all palates: you can choose between Genoese farinata, agnolotti del plin with grilled sauce, typical cold cuts and cheeses, Genoese focaccia and focaccia cheese, Emilian fried gnocchi, Fassone hamburgers, boba and lambredotto and delicious desserts of the Neapolitan tradition.
Via Torino will host on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September from 10.00 to 20.00 there review of artisanal food and local agricultural production: an opportunity to learn and taste typical local food and wine, in the name of quality raw materials and strictly traditional processing.
Walking between its stands more than 50 agri-food companies are involvedvisitors will take an exciting journey along the paths of taste and quality, with properly selected food and wine products to guarantee a wide offer of many delicacies to discover and taste: Piedmontese sweets, preserves, extra virgin olive oil, honey and Beehive products, typical Sardinian products, dried and fresh mushrooms, sauces, cheeses, rice, Kamut-based products, chocolate, infusions, tea, spices and much more.
The Nocciolini Festival is hosting two side events this year: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th Channel Festival, promoted by the Administration of Chivasso and part of the DUC District of Commerce project, dedicated to the values of the territory, commerce and sport andPlay Chivasso’ with space for gamers of all ages with board games, cards, role-playing games, video games and a street playground.
