There was no fourth U17 European Championship gold for Denmark. France were too strong and won the final 24-19.

The Danish team resisted attack after attack during the CE U17. The defense was the best in the league, but today it wasn’t enough against a talented France.

However, it was Denmark who started the game the best. Freya Hattesen opened the scoring in the first minute of the match and two minutes later Emilie Schleicher made it 2-0. However, the happiness was short-lived. Melissa Chantelly made it 3-3 then France took over the game. The French advantage was clear just before the break. The blue-clad managed to make it 12-9 with nine seconds remaining before the half-time whistle.

It didn’t improve in the second half for Denmark. France dominated the game and led the most with seven balls. However, Malou Axel had the last laugh and put Denmark 24-19, but the loss was already complete. France thus won the title and avenged the main round loss to Denmark.
