This weekend there is another long weekend in Chile, the perfect time to visit the countryside, the beach or take a walk to visit a relative, in the middle of the Halloween party.

Halloween or the eve of All Saints’ Day, is the now traditional typical holiday of children disguised asking for sweets in various streets of cities and neighborhoods.

When is Halloween Holiday?

Halloween or “All Saints’ Day”, it is actually not a public holiday that is officially celebrated in Chile. It is celebrated during the Day of the Evangelical and Protestant Churches, which this will be sunday 31 october.

This is because the all Saints Day is celebrated on Monday 1 November, which is also a holiday and commemorates the saints and the dead recognized by the Catholic Church.

What are the remaining holidays?

After the public holiday on Sunday, October 31 and Monday, November 1, there are only two public holidays in Chile and both fall in the month of December.

Wednesday December 8: Day of the Immaculate Conception.

Saturday 25 Dec: Christmas. Non-cancellable holiday.
