Lugi joins nine-yarder Anton Bengtsson from HK Ankaret. The 23-year-old belonged to Lugi as a young player and therefore now returns to Burgundy.

Anton Bengtsson came to Lugi aged twelve from parent club Staffanstorps HK. After six years at Lugi, the move went to HK Ankaret, but after four seasons there, the nine-set right-hander now returns to Lund.

– Going back to LUGI is really good and it was an obvious decision. I am looking forward to next season and to being able to play handball in front of the public in the Sparbanken Skåne Arena,” he told Lugi’s website.

– In the next season I want to develop all parts of my game, but I will put a lot of emphasis on my sense of the game. I usually play nine left but I can and am ready to contribute in all positions nine meters. Handball is much faster at this level, which forces me to both think and act faster, he continues.

Lugi’s head coach Nemanja Milosevic believes the new signing will be an important addition for the upcoming season.

– Anton is a serious and ambitious guy, who has a huge will and attitude towards training and matches. A versatile player who does well in all three positions over nine yards and not least in several defensive positions. A player who can complete our squad by nine meters and a player who will be of great use to us next season. I’m happy that we managed to sign him and I believe and hope that he will show his potential and develop over the course of the year,” he said.
