Cava, Caritas presented the project “Sport And Fragility: A World To Live Together”

The press conference for the presentation of the project entitled “Sport And Fragility: A World To Live Together” was held this morning at the Archbishop’s Curia of Cava de’Tirreni.

The work resulting from the collaboration between Caritas Diocesana Amalfi Cava and the LIBERTAS Campania Regional Sports Center, intends to promote sports activities in the city of Cava dè Tirreni for families who cannot afford these costs, thus facilitating the process of children’s development, with particular attention to social inclusion.

The initiative has a general goal of promoting motor practice for children from 6 to 15 years old and their families in a general sense, but with particular attention to a perspective of social inclusion and equal opportunities and with particular reference to conditions of socio-economic fragility, also embracing the world of disability.

The press conference was attended by: Don Francesco Della Monica, director of the diocesan caritas Amalfi-Cava de’Tireni. the Hon. Franco Picarone, regional councilor and president of the Budget Committee; Anna Padovano, municipal councilor of the municipality of Cava de’Tirreni. Carlo Nardacci, director of the Rotary Club. and Carmine Adinolfi President of the LIBERTAS Campania Regional Sports Center, sports promoter.

In this way it will be possible to guarantee sports activity for families who cannot afford the costs, thus facilitating the development process of the subjects involved, with particular attention to social inclusion.

Therefore, in pursuit of the general objective, the project has been equipped with strategic lines specifically designed to promote sport as an educational tool for inclusion and the values ​​of team play and fair play.

Therefore, the project aims to bring people with disabilities and children with social discomfort closer to physical, movement and sports activity to improve their well-being and health.

Another goal is to promote an intergenerational encounter with the elderly with days and gathering events planned to correct this relational asymmetry that often arises between different generations.

The venture is therefore born from the idea and belief that sport is a right for “everyone”, where “everyone” really includes people with disabilities.

In particular, the direct recipients of the project are people with: socio-economic disadvantage, motor disability (paralysis, trauma, amputation, etc.), sensory disability (blindness, deafness, etc.), cognitive and social-relational disability (autism spectrum disorders , down syndrome, psychiatric syndromes, etc.).

These recipients will engage in physical and sports activities, so they will no longer be inactive, improving their state of health and well-being.

The courses will be completely free for users.

Lessons with group activities will also be activated. psychosocial workshops based on motor activity. These activities will be managed by technical or sports animators with the support of teachers/educators in a variable educational relationship based on the problems of the subjects involved.

The project proposal also includes outings to the water amusement park “Isola Verde”, in order to encourage moments of sharing between the group of selected subjects and to develop in them the possibility of comparison and relational exchange.

There will also be ‘inclusive’ multi-sport open days, the first of which will be held at the Caritas Citadel of Charity on 28 July at 7pm, to develop knowledge of the various sporting activities and then allow selected players to practice the sports. which they intend to undertake with effect from September.

The project creates a team of specialist trainers on the issues of educational and inclusive sports (team activities and activities adapted for all, including disabilities and deficits), in organizational-management aspects, promoting the building of an Educational Pact with local schools and the aspects of public and digital communication, in order to support the activities of the project through a specially designed educational program and through the creation of a “Community” to support the activities of the project.

These are the motoring and sports activities planned for the recipients:

  • sailing lessons
  • tennis
  • sport
  • martial arts
  • sports dance
  • Rhythmic Gymnastics
  • basketball
  • gentle / restorative exercise.

The courses will be completely free for users.

At the end of each year of the physical activity cycle, a national Sport and Fragility event is planned.

The project is supported by the financial contribution of the Cava de’ Tirreni Rotary Region and enjoys the patronage of the Campania Region, the Rotary Club of Cava de’ Tirreni, Libertas, a sports promoter.
