Cross-country skiing: Ingvild Flugstad Östberg reveals Johaug's clear message

Ski star Ingvild Flugstad Östberg talks about his health problems on Norwegian show Lindmo. Problems which, for periods since 2019, have kept her out of the Norwegian national team because she did not meet the requirements.

– I impose very high demands on myself. I still do it. But it can also be what causes me to fall apart rather than build myself up. This pursuit took me in the wrong direction. I trained well enough to become the best skier in the world, but I didn't eat well enough to become the best skier in the world, says Flugstad Östberg in the program Lindmo.

Flugstad Östberg – who won her first medal in four years when she was behind Norway's relay gold at the Planica World Cup – talks about direct communication from national team colleague Therese Johaug , which was decisive in the fight to come back.

– She was one of those who clearly said: Ingvild, now you are too thin. As it stands, you are not the best skier in the world, you need to eat better and more.

– We know each other well. She knows she can tell me anything, even if it hurts and I cry.
