Footballer Schick injured ankle ligaments, national team participation uncertain

Czech soccer striker Patrik Schick, who did not finish the German Premier League match between Leverkusen and Cologne on Sunday due to an injury, suffered an ankle ligament injury and a weeklong hiatus. ‘waits.

“Both forwards will most likely be available for Bayer after an international break in mid-November,” the club said in a statement.

Schick became just the second player in club history to score eight league goals for Leverkusen in nine games. Only Patrik Helmes did the same before him during the 2008/09 season.

The Czech national striker currently sits in third place in the Bundesliga scoring charts. Only Erling Haaland leads him with nine goals and Robert Lewandowski, who has even more.

Leverkusen is expecting a cup match with Karlsruhe on Wednesday and will face League Wolfsburg on Saturday 30 October.
