Miss Dirty Fun

Swedish music distributor Amuse cuts ribbons with Miss Snusk And Rasmus Gozzi.

At the beginning of January, several artists' songs disappeared from Spotify. According to Today's news the streaming service had been tracking their numbers for months, and when streams suddenly increased by 100,000 listens in just two days in December, alarm bells went off. The rapid and dramatic increases were seen as signs of manipulated flow, leading to the removal of several of the duo's songs.

A large number of songs were uploaded via the distributor Amuse, which offers, among other things, a service for uploading music to streaming platforms without a label.

It was also Amuse which deleted the songs from Spotify, following a request from the platform. At the time, Amuse hadn't seen detailed streaming numbers for December, as they are usually sent out with a delay of a few months.

“We work closely with streaming services and always remove relevant versions at their request. These songs are therefore not available to listen to at this time,” writes Sofia Green, head of communications at Amuse, in a email addressed to DN.

Already in December the songs were also covered Ride me like a Dala horse And The gynecologist removed from the official Swedish list. According to the professional organization Ifpi, streaming songs cannot be explained “as a natural mode of consumption”, writes the newspaper.

Despite the measures, the artists themselves announce that all their music will return on February 4. In a post on Instagram, Miss Snusk writes:

“I have the best news in the world! On February 4th, we are releasing 490 songs! Which song do you miss the most?! We love your support and those of you who know know it!”

According to information from DN, the music will be distributed via a service linked to the Universal record company in Norway. The company has previously provided music from Rasmus Gozzi and Fröken Snusk, which is still available on Spotify.
