Overview of Paris Fashion Week ss 22

This week Trendstop brings FashionUnited readers an overview of Paris Fashion Paris for Spring-Summer 2022.

Paris took the highlights of the season to the next level as designers maximized their ecological commitment and went to great lengths to cultivate growing optimism and positive sentiment in consumers. Creating experiential events sought to reconnect customers with collections and brands and revitalize catwalks as centers of creativity.

Stella McCartney

The future was mushroom-shaped for Stella McCartney when the designer presented her first collection of bags made of mushrooms. In collaboration with Mylo Laboratory, McCartney has reworked some works of art using eco-friendly materials. Continuing with the theme, hand-painted mushroom patterns appeared as a print on a collection of overalls, skirts and dresses with swimsuit-like cuts and soft corset structures.

Balenciaga

Theatrical entertainment was the order of the day for Demna Gvasalia in order to bring a smile to the faces of fashion after a turbulent period. Huge dresses and oversized custom cuts played with proportions, while sequins, boa feathers and giant gothic platforms brought glamor and drama to the presentation. Models and celebrities posed for each other in front of paparazzi on the red carpet, while Gvasalia explored the brand’s growth and transition from pure fashion to that of a leisure experience.

Hermes

Calmer but just as exciting, the Hermès collection was set against a sunny yellow background created by artist Flora Moscovici, which radiated hope and optimism for the future. Combining comfort with practicality, the wide pants with drawstring and T-shirts are mixed with pieces of carefully made and crafted leather and knitted, while the nails and the forged metal eyelids refer to the equestrian heritage of the brand.
