The Funeral of Arthur “Waluś” Walczak. The crowd bid farewell to the former strongman

Artur Walczak’s funeral was reported by “Super Express”. His final farewell ceremony began at 1 p.m. in the chapel in the cemetery of St. Of the Trinity in Gniezno. The chapel was filled to the brim, family and friends appeared – we read in the tabloid. Walczak’s body was cremated. The 46-year-old was buried in a grave next to his parents.

Artur Walczak was from Gniezno. He started his sports career with strong matches – his biggest success was the Polish Vice Championship in pairs in 2015.

Artur “Waluś” Walczak is dead. He died after being knocked out at PunchDown

On October 22, at the PunchDown gala, Artur “Waluś” Walczak was hospitalized in critical condition after being severely knocked out while battling open-handed blows. “Waluś” suffered brain damage and after the operation he was placed in a pharmacological coma.

After surgery to remove the hematoma, initial attempts to wake Walczak from his coma failed. The family launched an official fundraiser for costly rehabilitation and permanent care for “Walus”. Sadly, Artur Walczak passed away in hospital on Friday, November 26, after fighting for his life for over a month. Such information was provided by his friend Piotr “Bonus BGC” Witczak and the official Strongman Polska account.

PunchDown is the largest slapfighting federation in the world. The battles consist of players facing each other and taking turns hitting each other with an open hand on the cheek. The stricken fighter may not dodge. Whoever beats the rival wins. Otherwise, the judge decides on winning.

The issue of the fight “on the list”, which ended in tragedy, was investigated by the Public Prosecution Service of Wrocław Old Town District. It involves exposing a person to the imminent danger of loss of life or serious damage to health.
