30 years ago, they won the twentieth world championship title. But today's teenagers don't know them or their sport | Other sports

Kolok has been a native sport in the country for 30 years, and hundreds of people were watching on television to see Pospilov win the title this Sunday afternoon in Ludwigshafen, West Germany.

They got lost. But before the tournament, 46-year-old Jindich and 46-year-old Jan decided to say goodbye here.

We played against boys from a younger generation. Trnovna was difficult for us, as we struggled almost every day. But we didn't want to leave without praise and we managed to win, even with both hands. We said goodbye, today remember Jan, then animal hero mae.

The tournament was played out in such a way that the final group match against Frank Müller and Manfred Geilert decided the champions.

Pospilov soon led 2:0, only the Germans equalized in the last minute and scored a penalty to take the lead. Jan grabbed the bag and made her decision in six minutes.

And the nation – without any problem – celebrated.

We could play blind, because we were very hard on the thorns. Brcha recorded and knew I would be there. We worked for four weeks, on weekends there were rescues. Don't worry, because then you will have bloody calluses and you won't hit the children, l Jan Pospil.

The coach didn't eat. Once at the center he gave us the afternoon and ate, and we are in the room at midnight. We drank five minutes after him, so he woke us up in the morning and we went at eight without breakfast. And he said: If you had drunk, you could have slept.

As Karel Gott in Slavko

The whole story of how rimming became a national sport and the Pospilov brothers managed to win 20 titles and were named sportsmen of the year (1979) began with the fact that they both followed their old sister towards prickly figure skaters. She was boring them, so they went for coke.

At first, due to the separation that year, everyone had a different park – Jindich played the first championship with Jaroslav Svoboda.

Jene then went to a village school, where they went on horseback to collect materials, and here they received a load from a young man from Pospil. They agreed, so Coach Hart called and said, You guys will play together!

Rudolf Hart beat them, tamed them, was able to put them back together when they fought after the rescue and fought. He replaced their aunt, whom they hardly recognized when she lost her life during the liberation of Brno.

We couldn't do anything without the trainer. He wanted us to run against the reindeer on the thorn. Each of us chose a weak teammate and we always wanted to win. We had honor, motivation, that's why we held on for so long.

They played 25 championships together and did not finish without a medal once. The Germans pitted them against nine different pairs.

They ruled like Karel Gott Zlatm slavkm. And even at that time – without a sophisticated regeneration system – they burned for a long time for over 1000 years, that's unique.

It was a good thing for them to become stone professionals in the mid-1970s and 1980s. rare in that, even though they worked in Krlovopolsk, they could benefit from so-called reimbursed hours.

When we went to the tournament, we had paid time off. We could also have spent the afternoon there. We went to the factory, but towards the end it was free. It's unthinkable today. The boys have to work in the evening, and they don't want that, because they are tired of work, until January.

In the late 1980s, they earned 3,600 crowns per month, which was a very healthy salary. As a celebrity, they had a greengrocer in Brno who always found banny under the counter, just like he discovered a candle.

But when I got married, my son was born, there was no pension. So I went to Ndra, dropped off a cart loaded with coal and received 250 crowns in my hand. And the day was spent, hard Jan.

What is this great music?

But let's go back to 1988. These 20s were not only a farewell for the Pospilovs, but also marked the rapid departure of Czech wheels from the main sporting scene. A year later, Jindich jet led Miroslava Berger and Kratochvl to another title, but it was only narrow.

They found a sponsor who paid them so they didn't have to go to work. But they were young people who preferred to go to the mountains rather than to the thorns. They didn't give much, they didn't win and the sponsor was angry with them.

They also defecated on the Pospilovs. And they were representatives of the only Eastern bloc country that participated in the campaign and was an ideal advertisement for the communists.

In 1988, Jan applied for the position of national team coach at STV, but was told that there was no pension for it. He therefore wrote to Europe to see if it would be interested in him, and most of his interlocutors responded enthusiastically.

He chooses the Czech Republic, where he raises the young world of Amponia, while Brother Jindich finds his way to Austria.

Kolov gradually disappeared from television and the press. Today, it has again become a purely marginal sport, and the fraternal duo of poly-tracks of a generation which does not know it, in the same way as cycling.

So he had a clue for him: the Pospilovs are part of the legendary Samot cult sketch, in which actor Ji Machek asks: What kind of good music is this?

When you hear the answer, say: Well, actually, the national anthem. It's just that it hasn't been played instrumentally like this in a long time, so I forgot about it. And the brothers are just preparing for the VTZ diploma.

Jan laughs: I saw it once and Kim: How the hell did we get married there?

But then it's nice and sad, but finally evaluate the state of current domestic bicycles.

I didn't have patience as a kid and you need it on bikes. It takes time to learn to align, stt. I have calluses, pain in my hands. I want to have my kids' day right away. So they take their football shoes and immediately give out drinks. But I know that in five to ten years, times will change and girls will take the wheel again. Yes, one day it will be good again.

Now Jindich and Jan, together with the family, have a house in Brno, the young man spent a lot of time in a house in Enkovice.

They are unhappy that their pension also includes an annuity abroad, where, in addition to the internship, they worked normally. Both are still in good shape at 70 and you'd tip them ten or fifteen more.

And the most important message of their games is summed up by Jan: The Germans would have preferred to kill us instantly, but otherwise we were friends.

We stayed in a hotel, the Steinmeiers bought lots of beers and drank. Dv was one family. There's no nonsense in this today. Well, it's a different time, but the camaraderie is also a good thing.
