Collare d’Oro 2020 awarded to Federica Brignone and Dominik Paris

Italian sport celebrates its champions with the presentation of CONI’s “Collari d’Oro 2020”, the highest distinction in Italian sport, which can be awarded to athletes who achieve exceptional results or world and Olympic titles.
It can also be awarded to sports managers and sports clubs, in possession of certain specific requirements.

For alpine skiing Federica Brignone (Riflemen) e Dominique paris (Carabinieri) received the prestigious award, as well as the “colleagues” of winter sports Dorothée Wierer (Yellow flames) e Dominique windisch (Army), by the President of CONI Jean Malag, in the presence of the undersecretary in charge of sport Valentina vezzali, and the secretary general of Cuneo Carlo Mornati, at the Auditorium laVerdi in Milan.
Yesterday, still in Milan, Vezzali, Malag, Paris, Brignone and Wierer took part in the FISI Opening.

Federica Brignone was rewarded for the victory of the 2019/2020 World Cup, Dominik Paris for the gold medal in superg at the 2019 World Cup.

The ceremony had been postponed for a year due to the pandemic, while the 2021 edition will be celebrated in Rome on December 20, in the presence of Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

Also awarded the Palme d’Or for Technical Merit dedicated to coaches and technicians: awarded Alberto Ghidoni responsible for the blue sprinters Fabrice Curtaz technical director of the national biathlon team.
