Pär Boman refuses to be re-elected chairman of the board of directors of Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget, SCA, the company writes in a press release.

Pär Boman remains chairman of the board of directors until the annual general meeting in March next year.

“I informed the SCA nomination committee today that I intend to leave the SCA board of directors at the next annual general meeting,” says Pär Boman in a press release .

SCA is the largest private company in Europe forest owner with 2.7 million hectares of forest in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. With forestry as its base, SCA has been investing in sawmills and pulp and paper mills in the four counties of Norrland since 1929. SCA is also a major player in the field of renewable energy and provides non-fossil energy in the form of bioenergy and renewable electricity.

Just over 20 percent of Sweden’s wind energy is installed on SCA’s territory. In 2022, SCA achieved its best result ever.

“After almost 14 years on the board, including nine years as president, I can say that SCA is a successful and robust company with dedicated employees and with a unique asset in its forest”, says Pär Boman.
